If I have a first-gen BookArc, can I get the new BookArc Pro features without buying a new stand?
Yes. A BookArc Upgrade Kit is now available that will update a previous generation BookArc to the new BookArc Pro. It will add the new improved fit for unibody MacBook Pro models and the cable management system - but not the redesigned feet. The BookArc Upgrade Kit can be purchased for $14.99 at twelvesouth.com/products/bookarc.
What! I can use my MacBook closed? How do I do that?
Yes you can. Connect a nice big external monitor, your favorite keyboard & mouse and you’ve essentially turned your MacBook into a space-saving micro tower. Apple calls it “Closed Clamshell Mode”. Read specific instructions directly from the Apple tech support site right here.
Ok, now why would I want to use my MacBook closed?
Many reasons, but basically it boils down to wanting a portable notebook on the road, and a comfortable desktop computer at home. Using your MacBook closed on a BookArc while connected to your favorite widescreen monitor, keyboard and mouse is truly the best of both worlds.
What Apple Portables can work closed while attached to an external display?
