A magical, revolutionary and just plain gorgeous device like the iPad needs a good home when it’s not in use. The BookArc for iPad stand has turned out to be just the right sort of solid and comfortable residence for my iPad.
I thought the BookArc looked quite good when I first saw it. Now I’ve had mine for a few days, I’m happy to say it has met and exceeded my expectations.
…
For starters, the BookArc for iPad holds the iPad perfectly in portrait or landscape positions. In either mode, the iPad feels absolutely secure and the fit feels great.

I’m finding it easy and comfortable to use the iPad while it’s in the BookArc stand – in both portrait and (more often) landscape mode. There is an ample home button opening that makes it fairly easy to tap the home button when the iPad is in the stand in portrait position. And of course in landscape mode the home button is out on the side and even more easily accessible.
It sits so solidly in the stand that I feel comfortable launching apps, typing, tapping buttons and so on, without a worry.
I’ve got it positioned alongside my MacBook Pro, and I’m able to quickly check things on the iPad, copy images or text over, and do lots of quick-hit type tasks while it’s in the stand. It’s also perfect for when I want to have the iPad in digital photo frame mode.
The stand is elevated enough that it is easy to charge to charge the iPad while it’s in it, in either orientation – and made all the easier if you have the 6-foot Apple iPad 10W USB Power Adapter.
…
I know you’re probably not meant to get excited about accessories and especially ones as basic as a stand – but...
It looks great on a desk or table, the iPad feels great and secure when in it, and it works great – in that it allows me to do as much or as little with the iPad as I want while it’s in the stand.
This is my favorite iPad accessory so far.

In amongst the wave of iPad cases we've received sits this useful BookArc tabletop stand for iPad from Twelve South.
…
The BookArc stand is fairly straightforward. You place the iPad in the top and it holds it up. It can hold the iPad either vertically or horizontally (another advantage over using the iPad Keyboard Dock, which limits your work to the vertical positioning) and a small recessed part at the front enables access to the Home button. The dock connector slips underneath enabling you to charge and sync the the iPad without having to remove it from the stand.

We prefer using this with the Apple Wireless Keyboard over the official iPad Keyboard Dock. The ability to control the tilt of the iPad would have been a bonus, but on the whole it's a good functional stand.

The BookArc for iPad is a tabletop stand for the iPad. While we've seen everything from empty tape rolls and carry-out trays used as stands for the iPad, the BookArc is definitely one of the more stylish stands. The US$39.99 BookArc for iPad is a sleek arc of aluminum, outfitted with silicone rubber inserts to keep your iPad from getting scratched while it's sitting in the stand. Depending on which insert you use, you can orient the iPad in portrait or landscape mode, and either upright or tilted.
In the tilted mode, the BookArc makes a wonderful dock for using the iPad with an external wireless keyboard. SInce the BookArc is open on the bottom, you can even use the standard Apple Dock Connector to USB cable to sync and charge your iPad while it's lookin' good.
There's not that much more to say, other than it looks great, it works well
