HiRise for MacBook
Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I want an adjustable stand for my MacBook?
Why would you not want an adjustable MacBook Stand? MacBooks vary widely in size between the tiny 11-inch MacBook Air and the awesome 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. A ‘one-size’ stand does not fit all MacBooks. HiRise adjusts your MacBook from just a few inches off the desk to almost half-a-foot off the desk. This lets you decide what height is best for you - not what fixed-height you're stuck with.

Another consideration. Often a dual-screen setup (MacBook + External Monitor) works best with the two screens placed directly side-by-side. With cables coming out of both sides of the MacBook, this placement is impossible with most fixed stands. The HiRise lets you lower your MacBook and clear these cables so you can have that perfect edge-to-edge setup you’ve always wanted. The adjustable HiRise Stand for MacBook makes this setup possible.
What is on the bottom of HiRise stand? Does it have rubber pads?
The HiRise for MacBook has two polymer rails on the bottom - very similar to the base of iMacs and Apple Displays. Not only do these rails protect your desk from scratches, but they allow you to pivot your MacBook via the HiRise stand itself. This makes it much easier to safely adjust the position of your MacBook or to swivel it to share a screen with a colleague.
Why would I want to elevate my MacBook to sit higher on my desk?
The main reason for elevating your MacBook up off your desk is for comfort. Elevating your MacBook can reduce neck strain and will provide a more comfortable, desktop-like setup.
Can I type on my MacBook keyboard while it's on HiRise?
No, we do not recommend typing directly on your MacBook keyboard while its on HiRise. We suggest pairing your favorite keyboard and mouse with your Mac while it's on HiRise for the ultimate elevated workspace.
Is it really true that HiRise can align my MacBook with a Thunderbolt Display?
Yes, HiRise can be used to align the screen of your MacBook with a Thunderbolt Display, or pretty much any other external display you may prefer to use.
How high will HiRise elevate my Mac?
HiRise for MacBook lifts your laptop from about two inches up to a half foot off of your desk.
