1. The name Twelve South comes from the neighborhood where company founders, Andrew and Leigh Ann Green, lived in Nashville, Tennessee.
2. Twelve South was started in 2009 - right at the Green's kitchen table in Charleston, SC - with the dream of creating products as innovative as Apple, for Apple fanatics. You can read more about their beginnings in their Kiplinger Magazine feature.
3. There were many versions of the Twelve South logo before they landed on the perfect design of the number 12 pointing south. We think it came out pretty great!
4. We still make all three of the original product lines that we started with in 2009 - BookArc, SurfacePad, and BackPack.
5. We don't want to brag but BookBook for iPhone 4 was the first EVER wallet-style iPhone case. This novel idea was quite a success (to say the least!) and we have continued to make BookBook for iPhone ever since.
6. Our co-founder, Andrew, was the first person to buy an iMac at the Apple store on King Street in Charleston, SC. Yes, we wait in line just like everyone else.
7. When Twelve South started in 2009, we only had four employees, and two of them were the owners! We are proud to say that we’ve grown our office family to 24 wonderful people who make Twelve South what it is today.
8. Our customer support team is two people strong and they are total rock stars! Keeping the team small and in-house is important to us because we want our customers to always be able to speak to a real live person when they reach out to us. Bridget and Tracey have been with us for a long time and they've gotten to know our customers on a personal level that wouldn't be possible in a larger company. They even get fan mail!
9. Our in-house fulfillment team is a perfect example of the phrase "not all heroes wear capes." We know you're excited to get your new products and the warehouse team goes above and beyond to make sure you receive your orders as quickly as possible. Through hurricanes, shipping holidays, and internet outages they persevere and we are so grateful to them for rolling with the punches!
