Dynamite docking station.

BookArc allows you to run a full desktop setup with your MacBook. Did you know your MacBook was designed for this? Apple experts suggest utilizing a little-known feature called closed-clamshell mode. Add a large external monitor, extended keyboard, and mouse, for a more comfortable work station. Enjoy a bright 27-inch display for super-sized photo editing, gain a dedicated number keypad and reclaim vital desk real estate with your MacBook upright and tucked out of the way in BookArc.

Using two screens? Just for fun... try one.

Use a dual-screen MacBook setup? Close your MacBook and try working on a single monitor. According to experts, this type of setup increases focus, minimizes workspace clutter and even speeds up display performance by dedicating 100% video memory to a single display.  When using BookArc, you have a newfound laser focus on the work before you.

The one stand for all current MacBooks.

The beautiful all-aluminum design of BookArc cradles your MacBook in a soft interchangable silicone insert that is crafted to fit your notebook. BookArc FAQs

Ok, now why would I want to use my MacBook closed?

Many reasons, but basically it boils down to wanting a portable notebook on the road, and a comfortable desktop computer at home. Using your MacBook closed on a BookArc while connected to your favorite widescreen monitor, keyboard and mouse is truly the best of both worlds.

What Apple Portables can work closed while attached to an external display?

According to Apple, all MacBooks, MacBook Pros, MacBook Air and PowerBook G4s can work in Closed Clamshell mode. More info directly from Apple can be read here.

What! I can use my MacBook closed? How do I do that?

Yes, you can. Connect a nice big external monitor, your favorite keyboard & mouse and you’ve essentially turned your MacBook into a space-saving micro tower. Apple calls it “Closed Clamshell Mode”. Read specific instructions directly from the Apple tech support site right here.
