OS X + Gestures are the future.
Multi-touch gestures are a huge part of OS X and key to the future of Mac desktop control. MagicWand helps you make the most of that finger tapping, swiping technology by partnering your keyboard with the trackpad. Everyday tasks like editing and renaming family pictures in iPhoto no longer require a reach across the desk. With MagicWand, the only thing to pick up and position while using a Mac are your hands.
A Zen-like workspace, just like that.
If you like a clean, tidy work environment, MagicWand is a must-have. It’s a snap (literally) to set up, and you can position the trackpad on either side of your keyboard (lefties rejoice). You will now have the ultimate keyboard before you, one that lets you type, click, scroll and swipe.
Photoshop two hands at a time.
When you set up your MagicWand, you can position the trackpad opposite your mousing hand - and use the mouse and trackpad at the same time. Swipe, pinch, and gesture on the trackpad. Use the mouse for more precise actions like drawing and painting. It’s the best of both worlds.
What is this “magic” made of?
Metal-on-metal is never a good idea unless you’re in a sword fight. That’s why MagicWand is made of polycarbonate. This lets you snap your Bluetooth Keyboard and Trackpad into MagicWand without the fear of scratching or hampering the Bluetooth signal. It also means MagicWand is very light. In fact at 45 grams, MagicWand weighs less than 2 AA batteries.
Mac home theater mission control.
Use your Mac to browse the web and stream videos and movies from sites like Hulu and YouTube? Imagine doing all that with a one-piece keyboard and trackpad in your hands. With MagicWand you can. A nifty H-beam keeps the keyboard aligned with the trackpad so you can use your MagicWand kit on any surface, including your lap or the armrest on the recliner. Your new keyboard is free to roam.
“Once snapped into the MagicWand... they seem as one.”Charlie Sorrel, Wired
“For those who wish Apple made a Wireless Keyboard with a built-in Magic Trackpad, the MagicWand gives you the next best thing.”Dan Frakes, Macworld
“When they see what other companies are planning to ask for similar add-ons, MagicWand may look like a bargain.”Jeremy Horwitz iLounge
Practically invisible. MagicWand was designed to seamlessly blend with Magic Trackpad and the Apple Wireless keyboard.
Soft rubber feet. MagicWand has soft, built-in foot pads to keep your keyboard from sliding around your desk and to keep it free of marks.
Special H-beam. Notice the H-beam between Trackpad and the keyboard. That is what enables you to use MagicWand on a desk or your lap.
Setup is a snap. Simply snap your keyboard into one end of MagicWand and your Trackpad into the other and you are ready to work.
Left or right. You can place your Trackpad on either end of MagicWand, making it ideal for right and left handed users.

Apple Magic Trackpad
- Which side of the keyboard do you have to place Magic Trackpad?
MagicWand lets you place your trackpad on either side of your Apple Wireless Keyboard. Place it on the side you typically mouse with, or try it on the opposite side and use your Trackpad and mouse together.
- Will MagicWand block the power button on my Wireless Keyboard or Trackpad?
Depending on which side you place your Magic Trackpad, you may block access to the power button on your keyboard or trackpad, but that’s okay. Apple’s smart hardware automatically puts itself to sleep when not in use and wakes up just as quickly when you need to use it. There’s no need to power down your keyboard or trackpad. They take their own power naps.
- What is MagicWand made of?
MagicWand is made of polycarbonate - the same material as a MacBook. This lets you snap your Magic Trackpad and Apple Wireless Keyboard into MagicWand without fear of scratching metal on metal. It also makes MagicWand very light. MagicWand weighs 45 grams, less than the weight of 2 AA batteries.
- Does MagicWand reduce sensitivity of the Magic Trackpad ‘click’?
The H-Beam Stabilizer can hold the Magic Trackpad to the Apple Wireless Keyboard so tightly the ‘click’ closest to the seam can sometimes be difficult. This is easily fixed by loosening the two pieces slightly apart (and not ‘squeezing’ them together so much). Also, if you are using the MagicWand on your desk or table, you can remove the H-Beam and T-Pad. The need for these is primarily in ‘lap’ and ‘living room’ scenarios.
- How will I change the batteries on my keyboard and trackpad?
Changing the batteries in your device is easy. Simply remove the H-beam, then gently lift the keyboard or trackpad out of MagicWand to access the battery bay. Once the batteries are installed, snap your keyboard or trackpad into MagicWand, install the H-beam and you’re ready to go.
- Can you "click on the couch?" I.e., how do you use Magic Trackpad in a MagicWand when it’s not on a smooth surface like a desk?
Magic Trackpad is the perfect pointing device for non-desk settings like the living room. Not only does it remove the surface required for mouse movement, it also has a very handy feature that removes the need for a physical click. It’s called ‘Tap to Click’ - the same feature available on many laptop trackpads. Enable ‘Tap to Click’ in your Magic Trackpad Preferences and one tap of the finger will do the same thing the traditional mouse click used to do.
While we’re at it, here’s another very handy feature the Magic Trackpad offers that really highlights themagic of Multi-gestures. Enable Three-finger Dragging in the Preferences. Now, using three-fingers on the trackpad moves windows and icons like click-and-drag used to work using a mouse. This handy feature is very helpful in many situations with your Magic Trackpad in a MagicWand. Give it a try now.
