When it’s time to charge your iPhone, simply separate the magnetic shell from the wallet and attach it to your MagSafe Charger. You can also use the BookBook shell with MagSafe accessories, including car mounts, charging pads and desktop stands like Forté and HiRise 3.

Wireless charging, at best, can be tricky. The new iPhone 12 models introduced MagSafe charging which promises to improve the wireless charging experience immensely, however, standard Qi wireless charging remains problematic for some. Additionally, cases designed before MagSafe was announced, like our BookBook, cannot offer the improved MagSafe experience.
For now, we must say that wireless charging with BookBook for iPhone 12 models does not consistently work to our standards. It works fine for some but not for others so, currently, the most stable and fastest way to charge your iPhone 12 in a BookBook is with the standard lightning port.
That said, there are steps you can take that might help if you’re having difficulties charging wirelessly in our BookBook shell - or any case:
1. Restart your iPhone. This will often take care of any wireless charging issues, including intermittent charging and no charging.
2. Make sure your iPhone has been updated to the latest iOS for fixes and improvements - especially iOS 14.2 that lists wireless charging as one of its improvements.
3. Make sure you have the iPhone properly aligned with the coils in the charger. If you're not sure exactly where they are, you may need to slightly move the iPhone around a little to find the 'sweet spot'. The BookBook for iPhone 12 shell has a metal lining with a large hole which allows for wireless charging, so if the iPhone is not properly aligned on the charger, you may receive a "foreign object" warning, or the iPhone may just fail to charge.
4. Try turning OFF the Optimized Charging feature in your iPhone settings: Settings / Battery / Battery Health / Optimized Charging / OFF

The window slot provides edge-to-edge protection, which has two benefits. It keeps the Apple Card stain-free, and it keeps the metal edges of the Apple Card away from your iPhone screen. Additionally, the window slot has a thumb-slide, allowing quick and easy access to your Apple Card.
The new BookBook shell isn’t just better-looking than any of the versions that came before it; it’s also more protective. It is more flexible, helping mitigate damage from falls, and the iPhone is easier to remove from the shell compared to our previous versions.
Yes, you will still be able to use your BookBook as a hands-free stand. Note, however, that when the BookBook is new, the crease in the back cover is stiff, so for the first few times, you will need to bend the cover along that crease to loosen it up to ensure the iPhone shell will stay attached to the back cover via the magnets.
